Message from Anthony

Hello all, welcome to our June issue of the SoftTrace Scoop. We have a great read for you with our busiest month so far this year! It is hard to believe we are half way through 2022. We are grateful for the last six months and with the easing of Covid-19 restrictions at the start of the year, we have accomplished and achieved so much already. SoftTrace looks forward to another successful six months.

Company News

On Friday the 24th June, we celebrated our 20th Anniversary. To mark the proud occasion the SoftTrace team enjoyed a staff celebration night at the Dean Hotel in Cork City.

Society of Dairy Technology

CEO Anthony Connolly and Dairy Process Technical and Compliance Manager Lynn Harte attended the Society of Dairy Technology Summer Symposium Annual Dinner at the Staffordshire Country Showgrounds on the 29th June.

After an opening speech from current SDT President Chris Edwards, a great night was had networking and catching up with friends and industry partners. SoftTrace would like to congratulate Ian Luxton of Belton Farms, recipient of the presidents award for his commitment and passion for the dairy industry.

SoftTrace commends the Society of Dairy Technology for another great event! Anthony and Lynn were delighted to have attended and with to thank Marian Pusey Executive Director of SDT for organising an enjoyable event.

The International Cheese Awards

Following the SDT Summer Symposium, CEO Anthony Connolly and Dairy Process Technical and Compliance Manager Lynn Harte attended the International Cheese and Dairy Awards on the 30th June.

Held at the Staffordshire Show grounds, Anthony and Lynn had a great day networking with over 5,500 entries. This years awards marked the ICDA’s 125th Anniversary. from beginning in 1897 in Nantwich the awards have grown to be the worlds leading cheese and dairy event bringing together buyers and sellers from all around the world.

SoftTrace would like to congratulate all winners and recipients of awards. A great achievement for all!

Foss Dairy Seminar 2022

On Wednesday 8th June, CEO Anthony Connolly attended and spoke at the Foss Dairy Seminar – Innovation in the Milk Industry.

The seminar addressed innovation in the dairy industry, challenges in quality and the increasing need or control in Dairy Manufacturing.

Anthony discussed innovation in the Dairy Industry and identified the recent challenges which have led to increased interest in digitisation within the sector. He also discussed how SoftTrace software solutions support Dairy Manufacturers as they evolve to embrace new technology.

The conference also included industry speakers including;

  • Michael Sievers – International Business Manager Process at Foss discussing Smart Analytics to Support the Digital Transformation of the Dairy Industry.
  • Hakan Palsson – Product Manager at TetraPak, discussing ‘It’s all about control’
  • Paul Kirwan – FT3 New Technology at Foss
  • Declan McNulty – Managing Director, GEA Separator at GEA

The industry speakers gave great insight through discussing the advances in teh industry having benefited quality and monitoring as we move forward in the digital age.

Process Ingredients Process Facility Official Opening at olac Felinfach

On Thursdaay 16th June, CEO Anthony Connolly and Our Dairy Processing Technical and Compliance Manager Lynn Harte attended the official opening of customer and friends at Volac Felinfach new protein ingredients process facility.

The day was a huge success from start to finish and both Lynn and Anthony enjoyed meeting friends and networking with industry partners.

The day started with speeches from Lee Pierce who opened and closed the event, James and David Neville, Lesley Griffith – Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales Trenfnydd who also unveiled the plaque as well as Richard Harris project lead for the Aeron Drier Build.

The event also included a tour of the new facility where Volac’s hard work over the last two years was showcased.
